The Power of Attitude

The Power of Attitude
Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude

Attitude Defined
Attitudes are the established ways of responding to people and situations that we have learned, based on the beliefs, values and assumptions we hold. Attitudes become manifest through your behaviour
It is attitude that determines how fast you achieve your goal or how well you acquire a skills or knowledge. Attitudes also provide a framework to solve the problem.

The Only Source of Happiness and Unhappiness
The only source of happiness – and unhappiness – comes from inside you.
Happiness is not something that comes to you. It is something you create now, today.  Waiting for something to change in order to be happy is waiting to live your life. It is not what happens to you that count. It is how you react to what happens to you. It is your attitude. When you adopt a positive attitude, life becomes a rewarding adventure instead of something to get through

Attitude Drives Behaviour
Attitudes drive behaviour. If you want to succeed at anything you need to have the right mind-set. Your body language is a result of your mental attitude. By choosing your attitude you get in that mood and send out a message that everyone understands, consciously or unconsciously.
"Almost always, you have a choice as to what attitude to adopt. There is nothing in any normal work situation that dictates you to react in one way or another. If you feel angry about something that happens, for instance, that's how you choose to feel. Nothing in the event itself makes it absolutely necessary for you to feel that way. It is your choice. And since you do have a choice, most of the time you'll be better off if you choose to react in a positive rather than a negative way."

Attitude Is Infectious
Your attitude is the first thing people pick up on in face-to-face communication. Just as laughing, yawning, and crying are infectious, attitude is infectious. Before you say a word, your attitudes can infect the people who see you with the same behaviour. Somehow just by looking or feeling, you can be infected by another person's attitude, and vice versa. When you are operating from inside a really useful attitude, such as enthusiasm, curiosity, and humility, your body language tends to take care of it and sends out unmistakable signals of openness.

The Power of Passion
Successful people win because they love what they do. All of them have a very strong desire to succeed. They have passion for their field, their business.
Passion is the single fastest way to spur you to massive success. It is something you love. Something you're excited about. Something you get up early to work on or to stay up late

The Power of Positive Attitude
It is not what happens to you that count. It is how you react to what happens to you, especially when you have unexpected problems of any kind. Learn and master powerful strategies you can use to keep yourself thinking and acting positively and creatively

Effective Problem Solving
When you think of problems you'll only attract more problems. When you think of solutions – you'll attract solutions and opportunities.   Approach the problem with the expectant attitude that there is an innovative practical solution just waiting to be found.  Be relaxed, confident and clear in your mind
Self-Motivation
You can achieve everything you have ever wanted to have, experience, or become. The power has and always will be within you, but nothing will happen until you   get and stay motivated to make something happen, to change your life and achieve your desires
Get Inspired

Succeeding requires a strong intention to succeed. "How to" is secondary. Get inspired first. Have a dream. If you really want something you’ll invent amazing ways to achieve it...

Benjamin Franklin's Thirteen Virtues

Virtues

Since Franklin's thirteen virtues and their principles are classified as adherence character traits or rules, I've divided them into personal and social traits.

Personal traits

The eight personal virtues relate to your attitudes toward activities and their challenges. Good personal character traits will better your chances of success in achieving your goals.
Temperance: "Eat not to dullness; drink not to elevation."
Order: "Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time."
Resolution: "Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve."
Frugality: "Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself; i.e., waste nothing."
Moderation: "Avoid extremes; forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve."
Industry: "Lose no time; be always employed in something useful; cut off all unnecessary actions."
Cleanliness: "Tolerate no uncleanliness in body, clothes, or habitation."
Tranquility: "Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable."
Note that some of the items in Franklin's list of virtues are not strictly behavior traits, since they may depend on personality or genetic inclinations. For example, some people have genetic inclinations toward eating or drinking alcohol in excess. Try as they may, it might be extremely difficult for them to follow the temperance guidelines.
However, it does not mean such a person has poor personal character or would not succeed in his or her activities. But it does mean that the person fails to follow Franklin's guidelines.

Social traits

These five social virtues that Franklin stated concern attitudes you should have toward people with whom you have dealings. Good social character traits result in other people wanting to do business with you or to have relationships with you.
Silence: "Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversation."
Sincerity: "Use no hurtful deceit; think innocently and justly, and, if you speak, speak accordingly."
Justice: "Wrong none by doing injuries, or omitting the benefits that are your duty."
Chastity: "Rarely use venery but for health or offspring, never to dullness, weakness, or the injury of your own or another's peace or reputation."
Humility: "Imitate Jesus and Socrates."
Following to these principles shows good social character traits.

GOALS

S-pecific
M-easurable
A-ttainable
R-ealistic
T-imebound

Physical Goals
These are the goals that are related to your physical well being and health. If you need to loose weight, or improve your physical condition and health in some way, you will need to set these goals.

Career Goals
Where do you want to be in your career five years from now, ten years from! In what position you see yourself and what you will do to reach there, what kind of value addition you will do to your skills, both hard and soft, will fall under career goals.

Financial Goals
When are you planning your retirement, what kind of house you want to live in, what kind of car you want to drive, where you want to go for vacation, what kind of education do you want to afford for your children? Answer to all these will depend on you financial planning, and achievement of your financial Goal Setting.

Relationships & Family Goals
Relationships and your family are one of the biggest assets that you may have. How will you improve your old friendships, and make new ones? What will you do for your spouse, children, parents, greater family, so as to take these relationships to a greater depth? It is worth it to set goals in this area to have a fulfilled life.

Self Development & Spiritual Goals
A person is like a fruit. As long as you are green you are growing. If you stop growing you ripen and fall to ground. One of the greatest blessings of human life is the lifelong ability to learn. So, keep learning, keep growing internally. Set goals for improving your attitude, self image, faith etc. People those who are spiritually higher enjoy better self image, better relationships, and more financial success as they have stronger faith. Spiritual upliftment is an important purpose of all human life and one should set goals in this area of self development.

Pleasure Goals
As the children of God it is your right to enjoy and have pleasure. Set goals for your enjoyment and how you are going to spend time for yourself. Goals may be set for entertainment, learning new art or for taking up new hobbies.

Social Goals
More often your success will be measured by what you do for the society rather than your personal achievements. As a human being it is your responsibility to give back to society more than what you receive from it. Any goals that you set for this purpose are Social Goals.

Problem Solving Skills

A leader must never view a problem as a distraction, but rather as a strategic enabler for continuous improvement and opportunities previously unseen.

Remember that if you solve a problem, even a difficult one, it is one less thing to worry about, and one less problem on your problem list!

Motivation - What Motivates you

What motivates you?? Is it your work, your salary or an appreciation by the CEO of the company? Everyone has their unique ways of getting motivated.

What are we here for? I know most of us will not spend their entire lifetime with this company. Some will leave in 2 years, some in 5 years and some guys in 10 yrs. But what is the key thing that you want to take with you when you leave this company… <Ask Audience>

Money

Knowledge

Experience

Relations

Knowledge and Experience are the key things that we would like to take with us. Others are also important but for time being let me first focus on these two key take aways…

Let me ask you another question, how much experience you can take away by working in a company for 2yrs……….Is it just 2yrs of work ex.. Its just a figure on paper, but actually what you take can be much more than this.. and for some unlucky one can be much less.

So how can we make it much more and how it is going to help us in future. Experience comes with activities that you perform, if you engage yourself more you will gain more experience and how it helps is that when you go to the new company you have better understanding of processes, more knowledge that gives you an advantage over others.

Some people say to engage yourself more you need to do more work and then your work life balance gets spoiled. But my dear friends there is one more aspect to this called SMART working that can enable you to give proper time to your family as well as work.

When we start working Smarter we reduce time for doing less important things and start delivering the important ones. We try to improve the processes and reduce the efforts. So by reducing time to do one activity we are actually making time for us to do other things. So no working more .. just working smart.

But don't take it in a way that you will never work more. You have to.. not for you not for your family but for someone who has faith in you.. your customers…

Suppose you fell ill at 2 a.m in the night, you need medical facility but if there is no good medical facility then what will you do?? Your competitors are watching you to do a single mistake that they can use against you to capture the market. They are also working hard… so sometimes we have to put our feet on the accelerator to reach the milestone before them.

Some people have big dreams, they want to do own a big business, or want to be an actor, but destiny had put them here. There is a saying that “Do what you Love” .. this is true, but also “love what you do” that will make you a more happier person.

This company has provided you a platform, now its up to you how you use this. To gain more knowledge and experience in less time or just wait to get older and older enough to be wise.

Mind is a 24hrs factory, even while you sleep it is producing dreams, but it also produce wastes like worry, negativity etc. but we should clean up the waste as soon as possible and start decorating our products our dreams. Because we are the customers of these products.

Success : Is what how we see it

Everybody in this world wants to achieve success, but have you ever thought of taking the road to success? When I heard this first time I was also surprised like you guys with the fact that is it possible to have a road to success. But then I realised that it is not a myth. In fact there is a road to success.

But before taking this road we need to understand our final destination which is “Success”. The word Success is quite a generic word but it comes along with many other things like happiness, wealth, peace etc. It has different meaning for each of us sitting in this room. For some it’s professional and for some it is personal. But in the end what is Success? Success is something that you or somebody else set for you and you achieve it. As a small boy while studying you and your parents measure your success by the number of marks you got in exams. But the strange thing is that if the success criterion was to come first then even if you get 99% marks but if you are second then you have not attained success. Vice versa if the criteria was to come first and you came first with 70% marks, u still succeeds. So the point here is that the marks has no impact on your success because you set the position as your success criteria. But if you have criteria of getting above 95% then you are successful in scenario 1 and failed in scenario 2.

So success is relative to what you want from life not what life gives you. I think now meaning of success is quite clear. For some it is having power, for some good personal relations and for some just happiness.

Coming back to our Road to Success, having understood the meaning of success now I can say that the destination name is success but it will look different for different people. So don’t get carried away by looking at somebody else destination. Once you reach the destination just enjoy it and create a new destination for yourself.

To start on this road first decide what you need. What are your goals in your life? What things make you happy? Because succeeding without happiness is meaningless. Some people say your goals and dreams should be big. There is a saying that if you aim for stars even you miss you will land on moon. But if you are doing so you should be able to accept the fact that moon is beautiful. You should be able to take the failure in a good way and should keep trying. But if all your dreams is to reach the star and you are keep falling on the moon then later or sooner you’ll become unhappy. So the goals must also be realistic. So that you go step by step and enjoy the success also between your failures.

Like all roads, Road to success is bumpy at some places and smooth at some other. Sometime you’ll feel that you are getting out of fuel and sometimes you’ll enjoy the scenery along the roadside.

Give Your Best

Life is not that easy but it is not complicated either. It is the way we see it and the way we react to what comes to us. Sometimes in life you feel motivated and you do whatever is required to achieve your goals. You are ready to go the extra mile to achieve your dreams. You want to give your best in order to get success. You feel ahead of others in this race called Life.

But sometimes you are not sure whether your efforts will get you what you wanted. And sometimes you are not sure what you want at the first place. You have dreams but they don’t look realistic. You have goals but they don’t look achievable. At that time you sit back and start thinking of what to do next.

Life is all about giving your best in whatever you do. It is all about taking that extra step that you know is difficult for you. You can always do things what you can but doing something extra always gives you more satisfaction. There is no such thing like success and failures. It is all created by us only. But if you can do something that you feel was not easy for you to do that is Success.

An effort backed by your heart will never go in vain. Some people dream big, some small and some don’t. But I say have a dream. A dream that you can say is yours and your heart is with you to fulfil it. Then give your best to achieve it. You have to protect your dreams.
